The feedback has been very positive: our English clients (or the English wine trade) wanted to try the wines on hearing about the award. The trophy influenced both the developments of wine styles and packaging. Our key client, Tesco, who already had the product on their shelves at the time of the competition, witnessed an immediate up-lift in sales and now has a spring promotion planned which should obtain a significant volume increase.

Being selected for the white wine trophy created a real buzz around our wines... this is the most influential tasting we have participated in this year.

The organisation was very good and having the awards ceremony at the London International Wine & Spirit Fair gave the 100 wines a lot of exposure to potential customers and press. We were very happy that 2 of our wines were picked within the Top 100 and our Camplazens Syrah was the trophy winner in the red wine category. It has opened doors for sales more than any of our other awards! Thank you, and we look forward to taking part again this year.

The Top 100 competition provides a unique opportunity for individual Vins de Pays to differentiate themselves from the ocean of sometimes mediocre wines that are made within this category, with the added bonus of a stand at LIWSF dedicated to the winners. It seems to be very well viewed with the trade, which appreciates the achievement of finishing in the Top 100 from a tasting of around 1,000 wines, and consumers alike. Certainly the event has generated interest in our wines and drawn attention to the quality that can be produced within the category at very modest prices.

Winning the trophy for the best Sauvignon Blanc at last years Top 100 VdP event has certainly helped raise the profile of the French Connection Special Reserve range throughout the year. We are looking forward to the 2006 event, and congratulate all involved in helping to raise the profile of the increasingly impressive variety of VdP wines available in the UK.

When we came back here after the fair, I had several emails and from that we got five new distributors! Also an agent - Hamish, who's great. We are now completely out of wine (having bottled 25 000) and this year have upped our produce to 70 000.... (fingers crossed, we can sell). It made a tremendous difference to us winning the award and I wish everyone who submits their wines the same success. We shall be submitting ours again!

We tasted all of the Top 100 wines and selected a shortlist of wines which we felt that we might be able to offer to our customers. I am pleased to say that we have so far chosen to list 5 wines from producers involved in the Top 100 tasting, and it is likely that we will list others in the near future.
It would have been almost impossible for us to gather a range of wines together such as this to conduct our own in-house tasting, so your efforts have proven to be rewarding for us, and hopefully also to the producers who took part.
