Who can enter?
- All wines must conform to the rules governing Vins de Pays.
- Wines can be submitted by UK importers, agents and retailers plus producers, négociants and co-operatives in France. Entry is free.
Deadlines
- Wine registration must be completed by 7th March 2008.
- Wine must be delivered to the address given out when registration is completed by 14th March 2008.
- Entrants will be notified the results by 15th April 2008.
- Non respect of deadlines and procedures will lead to disqualification.
How to enter?
- Information about wines must be registered on to this site.
- Once this information has been received by the tasting organisers, each wine will be allocated a Product Number. This number will then be used to track deliveries.
- Wines received without a Product Number and Registration Details will not be put forward for tasting.
- Four bottles of each wine must be submitted.
- Cask samples will be disqualified.
- If a wine is selected as being part of the Top 100 you will be required to send the requested samples and information in time.
- You will have to provide a further:
- 12 bottles to be used for sampling at LIWSF (20-22 May 2008) and other promotional activities.
How does it work?
- Wines will be tasted in groups or 'flights' according to grape variety. Click here to see list of categories.
- At the tasting, bottles will be disguised in bags. The tasters will not be given any information which may affect their objectivity.
- If none of the wines in a particular category reach an exceptional standard then no trophy will be awarded.
- The jury may also choose to award wines the distinction of being the 'Best White/Red/Rosé of show.
- The Chairperson's decision is final.
- The result will be 100 wines which really demonstrate Vins de Pays de France at its best and which deserve to be called The Top 100 Vins de Pays.
- The wines might be given a number when the results are published, in the brochure or at the LIWSF but this will NOT be a ranking.
